Lions Gate Entertainment (NYSE: LGF) Toronto, the premier independent filmed entertainment production and distribution studio, announced today that the Company had earned a total of five Golden Globe nominations from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.
Lions Gate Films received two nods for the provocative theatrical film CRASH, including a Golden Globe nomination for Matt Dillon for Best Performance By An Actor In A Supporting Role -- Drama and a nomination for Paul Haggis and Bobby Moresco for Best Screenplay -- Motion Picture. Lions Gate Television's critically-acclaimed prime time series WEEDS, which will soon enter its second season on Showtime, garnered three nominations -- Best Television Series -- Musical or Comedy, Best Performance By An Actress In A Television Series -- Musical or Comedy (Mary-Louise Parker) and Best Performance By An Actress In A Supporting Role (Elizabeth Perkins).

Lions Gate plans to release the first full season of WEEDS on DVD in summer 2006.
Lions Gate is also distributing GOOD NIGHT, AND GOOD LUCK in the U.K. through its recent acquisition of Redbus Film Distributors, and the film received four Golden Globe nominations (Best Motion Picture -- Drama, George Clooney -- Best Director, David Strathairn, Best Performance By An Actor -- Drama and George Clooney and Grant Heslov -- Best Screenplay).
