Brian Goldsmith, Chief Operating Officer, Lionsgate

Brian Goldsmith is Chief Operating Officer of Lionsgate, spearheading the Company's corporate operations, corporate development activities, strategic partnerships and digital initiatives as Lionsgate has evolved from an independent studio into a global content leader. He reports to Lionsgate Chief Executive Officer Jon Feltheimer and works closely with Vice Chairman Michael Burns on M&A activities and initiatives related to the Company's capital structure, including corporate and project financings, strategic investments and stock and debt offerings.

Goldsmith has played an integral role in the company’s growth as it has become one of the world’s leading independent content platforms with a 20,000+-title film and television library and a valuable portfolio of brands and franchises. He helped shepherd Lionsgate’s May 2025 separation of its studio and STARZ businesses into standalone companies with Lionsgate becoming one of the world’s leading publicly-traded pure play content companies. He was also instrumental in Lionsgate’s acquisition of the global entertainment platform eOne and in expanding the studio’s majority equity investment in leading talent management and production company 3 Arts Entertainment.

Goldsmith previously led the Company’s October 2017 acquisition of film production and distribution company Good Universe, the January 2012 acquisition of Summit Entertainment, the April 2017 sale of Lionsgate’s stake in the EPIX network, the August 2011 sale of Canadian distributor Maple Pictures to Alliance Films and the March 2019 sale of Lionsgate’s 50% interest in the POP Network to CBS Corporation. Goldsmith also played a significant role in the Company’s launch of Celestial Tiger Entertainment in Asia with partners Saban Capital Group and Astro's Celestial Pictures.

In addition, Goldsmith helped develop Lionsgate’s numerous content partnerships in China, and he helped to spearhead the Company’s first-ever Spanish-language streaming service PANTAYA, in partnership with Univision Communications Inc. and Hemisphere Media Group.

Before being named COO in October 2012, Goldsmith served as Executive Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategy, leading the Company's acquisition and corporate development activities. Prior to that, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Mandate Pictures and its predecessor company Senator International, joining Lionsgate after its September 2007 acquisition of Mandate. Previously, Goldsmith worked as a financial analyst and strategic planner at Sony Pictures, beginning his career as a financial analyst at Merrill Lynch. He received his B.S. degree from Stanford University.
